About Us

We are Jeremy and Rachael Troughton, owners of the Sancroft Barns venue here in the beautiful countryside of north Suffolk. The estate and buildings have been passed down through two generations to us, and while Jeremy had a long career in the Army, Rachael worked in retail management and is still in property investment and mentoring. 

When we moved back in 2015 it was clear the redundant Tudor Threshing Barn and many other farm buildings needed some serious TLC. We had married here in 1991 in a marquee in the paddock, but we recognised the huge potential of the Barn and its surroundings, and had the vision to make this beautiful heritage asset into somewhere we would be proud of and that could be more widely appreciated by guests and visitors.
